Hey everyone! My name is Taylor Lawrence soon to be Taylor VanDyke on October 18, 2013!!
2. If you were to write a book about yourself, what would you name it? A day in the life of Taylor Lawrence. I chose this because I tend to think that my life is extremely hectic and eventful.
3. Tell us one of your favorite joke. This is not my favorite because I don't really have one, just thought it was funny... What did the guy at the rubber band factory say when he lost his job? OH SNAP!
4.
Tell us what subject you teach, years of teaching, and how far you are in the
MSIT or Teacher Education program. I teach Mathematics
grades 7-12. I am a first year teacher at Kaplan Academy in New Windsor, NY. I
work with severe emotional and behavioral issue students. After this semester I will
be half way done with my Master's program.
7. What are your concerns about taking this course? I just hope that I do not fall behind in work since I am taking
another online class as well this semester.
5. How much do you know about teaching language arts? I
do not know much about teaching language arts since that is not my strongest
subject. However, my best friend is an English teacher as well as a literacy
specialist so I am sure she can inform me of a few things.
6. How much do know about "new literacies?" I really do not know a lot about new literacies.

Congratulations for October. The joke is very funny. My daughter loved it.I also have the same concern as yours . I am also taking a second course.
ReplyDeleteI also working with a lot of emotional and behavioral students in my school and am taking another online class as well! I took two last semester as well and along with teaching it can be a little overwhelming but as long as you are organized and stay on track you should be just fine!
ReplyDeleteAfter reviewing our classmates blogs, Im noticing most of the ELA teachers have similar barriers to using technology in their classroom. They all have the same complaint "lack of technology". This really makes me think that public school systems needs some serious revamping!
